Yeah, you could add a line to your account and just get a SIM and phone number, no phone. Keep it for as long as you need it, and cancel at will.

It is also their shittiest phone.

I liked the Instinct. It wasn't a bad phone at all. Now, I had the Samsung Omnia on Verizon and that was a shitty phone. It's too damn small to be touch screen and was slow as shit. I never used the Omnia II but the first one was horrible. I had it for 2 days before I sent it back. That's when I went and got the first Droid.

Look up the instinct, and the instinct s30, or m800, m810, they are lb for lb the shittiest phones ever created. The samsung m540(rant), M560, m550,m520, or exclaim, reclaim, and all the other retarded ass names they come up with, are all seriously shit quality.
I have a friend that does tech support at sprint, and he lets me know exactly the phones to stay away from. Samsung is ALWAYS first, Palm is second, LG is right in there a third. Now this may be different on deifferent carriers, but from all the research i have done on Samsung phones, they are the worst of the worst.
I don't know how you can make great electronics, and such 100% shit phones. The Epic looks promising though. Has some great features. But if it's anything like the Moment (m900) it has fail already all over it. It is nothing to do with designs or features, it's that the software, and hardware are shit.

I don't need to look anything up on the Instinct. I used it and I loved it. The only reason I didn't keep it was because it was with Sprint and we don't get very good coverage with Sprint which is why we went to Verizon. I also had a Samsung flip phone a while back that was a pretty solid phone, but the Omnia was terrible. Those are the only 3 Samsung phones I've used so I can't speak for the rest.
As for Palm, I've used the Centro and the Pre Plus and neither of those phones were shitty. The only LG phone I've ever used was just a flip phone. I sold an ENV Touch from LG but I never used it other than reformatting it.
As for your comparison to how they make phones compared to their other elctronics: There are some companies that put their eggs in one basket. Their tvs are great so maybe they focus their resources on cornering that market and use that momentum to sale other stuff. Their home theater systems aren't that great. I've had to replace the same type 3 times in 2 years.
Another example is Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi makes great cars but their tvs are absolutely shitty.

All of Samsung's good mobile phone products wind up on AT&T. All of the "good" LG phones wind up on Verizon. Sprint gets Sanyo.

Gurry, I was just about to message you and see if you still work for Bell. I was reading some of the first few pages of this thread again and saw that.

JAILBREAK is available for iPhone 4, 3GS, and 3G. The latest software is cracked, at the best part is that it's completely unthethered, 100%. Just navigate your iPhone to www.jailbreakme.com and let the page load. It loads a PDF that automatically roots your phone wirelessly.
The one thing to keep in mind is that FaceTime and MMS are NOT functional after the jailbreak. If you can live without that, go to JAILBREAKME.COM!
